Trained and skilled as a sculptor and painter, Laura Baksa applies her energies and talents to designing mosaic pools, koi ponds, shower enclosures and other outdoor water features. Laura brings to this phase of her work the artistic sensibilities, technical skills, and devotion to quality she developed over many years in the fine arts world.
Laura received her BA from Sweet Briar College in Virginia, and continued her studies at the Art Students League and the New School in New York. She has studied privately with the noted sculptors Bruno Lucchesi and Philip Pavia.
Laura has exhibited sculpture at various Cape Cod galleries. She was the featured artist at Berta Walker gallery in Provincetown. She has exhibited at the Copley Society, Boston, and was named a Copley Artist after having sculpture accepted in five juried shows. Laura received recognition for her sculpture from an early point in her career, when she was awarded first prize for sculpture at both the New Jersey Artists Guild and the Cape Cod Art Association in 1970s.
